  1. Oooh. How old are we talking? Sixth formers, no problem. 12 year olds? Argh!!!!!

  2. Not until they can apply it properly, let's say 18! They want to grow up way to early !!

  3. primary school? I am not into it. I recently looked after a friends kid in the holidays- she's 10- arrived wearing foundation (seriously) and mascara and eye shadow.

  4. What age? 15-16 - a small amount of powder (if that helps cover the hormonal outbreaks and in turn makes the girl feel a little bit less self conscious) and a tiny lick of mascara is what my girl goes to school with and I'm fine with that. Any younger or any more make up tomfoolery, and I'd be concerned.

But I'm not a big make up wearer anyway and I don't like the overdone look on any age really.

    Curmudgeonly yours,

  5. Maybe 15 or 16 with a bit of discreet makeup, just to make the feel a bit special. Maybe some lip gloss for a younger girl too.

  6. Not a fan ... although Bear was wearing make-up to school from about Grade 10 (15yrs) - even though it's not allowed.
    Hugs,
    Joy :o)

  8. My girls started secondary school and started wearing makeup the same week. It's light and barely noticeable. Do I like it - well I'm in two minds about that - but I do know that I choose my battles and a bit of makeup is easier to ignore than other things. Of course they didn't get makeup until they started secondary school either - primary school is way to young to "put your face on" in my book.

  9. Yep- I reckon 15-16 (final year of secondary school) is just about o.k. Though it may be easier to ave a blanket 'NO'. At Simon's school the teachers keep packs of baby wipes to hand out for make up removal. I think it's nice to have something saved up for out of school.

  10. 15 and over is OK I think. And I mean a smidgen at school, a dot of concealer and some mascara. As a teenager I suffered quite bad acne and concealer was my best friend, so perhaps am more sympathetic to make up wearing...

  11. Dot's school has a blanket NO approach and they seem to enforce it quite well - not that Dot would be bothered as she hasn't got into makeup yet. Daisy might be a totally different kettle of fish when she starts there in September!! Locket xx

  12. I sometimes let my daughter (turning 7 in 2011) wear a bit of lipgloss. But not everyday. And she can't reapply since the lipgloss stays at home!

  13. Well, I'm too far removed from the question and had boys anyway, but I had fun reading your comments -- Jodi's answer cracked me up!
