No really.

We are pleased Sylv is going to be here in less than a month.

And she often comes for longer than four weeks.

I am very excited about my mother coming to stay.

Did I mention she was bringing her husband with her?

  1. I'm hitting the road in the am for the 6 hour road trip to see MY mother. Going Sun and back Wed, so I can get on with some sewing.

  3. is granny from next door single??! ...just wondering...perhaps "an arrangement" could be reached...?! failing that, how much do those month-long eurorail passes go for these days? might be worth the price...and educational for him, as well! (...i'm just sayin...)

  4. Even if they are your favourite people in the world, a four week stay is kinda long. They do say that houseguests, like fish, go off after 3 days.

  7. I've missed about the husband...what's wrong with him?

Thanks so much of the offer of a "daggy magnet" and I'm sorely tempted but rules are rules - magnets can only be for places we've been to and, alas, Australia remains unchartered territory for me.

  11. Wow, four weeks! That's..uh...long! Thanks for your comment - I've really enjoyed discovering your blog. LOVE the Trash Towers Dictionary! I heard my 4 year old drop something in the bathroom yesterday and exclaim "freakin' chops!". When I went in and asked him what he said he shrugged and said "freakin' chops!' Why?" When I asked him where he'd heard it he said "nowhere - I just made it up". I didn't know whether to tell him it didn't sound very nice, or to high five him and ask if he minded if I used it. In the end I just raised my eyebrows and walked away...and of course I have stolen it. 'Freakin' chops' Gold!! :P

  12. Beautiful! I do, however, think that it is yourself you're trying to convince!

Just stopped by to thank you for your comment on the post re: brain tumour. Lovely to have complete strangers take the time to offer words of comfort.
