The First Trash Raffle Results - everything has been won by Sarah Harrison from Timbuctoo ;-)

Unfortunately not everyone gets a prize but I hope that you all feel like winners when I tell you that the total number of 'tickets' listed on the Bushfire Raffle spreadsheet was 2041. Which means together we raised

$2041

for The Australian (British) Red Cross Bushfire Appeal 2009.

It has taken some time for my poor old elbows to unfreeze after all that virtual folding of virtual tickets and lobbing them into my delightful purple plaid tweed fedora.

Knowing how to really live the wild life CK and I spent Saturday night cross-checking and collating the list of donations with the spreadsheet of ticket numbers and names. And to celebrate our imminent wedding anniversary we 'drew 20 names out of said glorious headwear' which translates as I used the Random Number Generator to get my 20 numbers but Ck was v. excited that it was a proper random 'interger generator' (He is such a science head!) I have emailed all the winners and things are in motion to get prizes out to their new homes.

Annabelle is off to live in Australia at the purplepaisleypatch.

Stine's sweet little monkey is heading to Julie in central England.
Our Shabby Cottage is going to be deluged as Mrs S.C. won the Phoenix card package and the Shabby Cottage children won Stella the Sock Monster!
This most amazing bag from u-handbag.com was won by Quiltygal.
Lindi is about to become the new owner of Est's cushion cover.
Missus Stashbasket is sharing some of her collection with Kate Ramage.
Julie is the lucky recipient of Missus Moog's handpainted chair.
Christine someday soon will have the sweet-looking monkey arrive.
My new Canadian friend L.M. Laroque will be receiving the ric-rac soonest.
Tumbleweed Trails seems very excited about the prize she has won - the fabulous mixed media canvas
23 Beech Hill's parping pooch pouch is off to live with Debbie.
That stunning quilt from 'I'm A Ginger Monkey' is bound for Stateside for the home of the lovely Lauren.
D. Severtson will be receiving the pig and the wee knitted monkey from Eve's evocations.
Bec is going to love those bags from WMK as is Lynda K.
Mel A is going to love the cards from Kleinnzontje I feel sure.
Em-Ee-El should keep a look out for Kate North's fabric postcards.
The Russian Doll tray is going off to live with Locket.

And finally Marmalade the Cat.

He was won by Rosie K.

I got a reply to the 'you're a winner' email that thanked me very much for the prize but asked if it would be alright to offer it to the Toy Society so that they can find a much needed home for him with a child who needs a new friend. Aren't people nice?

This had such a good response and the need for assistance is going to be ongoing that I thought I might do another raffle later in the year.

Sorry this has taken so long to post but it is tricky typing with just one hand.

OK! Time's up now.

Having spent the week folding virtual tickets I am now going to lob them all into the virtual hat before choosing a winner or two. (I have to do this just now while Isabell is asleep otherwise everyone's 'tickets' will have puppy teethmarks all over ;-)

I am off to wrestle with said puppy before taking careful aim at my rather beautiful artisan-crafted purple woolen trilby. However, before I go to collate all the generous donations you have made, let me offer you all a reminder of the fabulous blog set up to help support those people in need after the bushfires.

This is a site full of fabulous handmade items for sale or auction, information and stories. If you have a few minutes to spare one day stop by and have a look.

Simian collossi bestride the globe.

Do you remember I said I was worried about Central Southern ninja sock monkey moves vs the well-drilled skills of the Brizzle squaddie monkee.

And do you remember how I said that Kitty assurred me she had created a gorgeous girlie sock monkey?

And then do you remember how I said that instead of broken bones and crushed limbs we may end up with romance?

Feast your eyes on this gorgeous pair below.

Fingers crossed the same person is lucky enough to win both otherwise the phonebill and postage costs may just get a little bit out of hand ;-)

The Trash Raffle Prize List.

So now things are starting to get a little exciting and I have had so many generous offers of wonderful objets to raffle off.

U-Handbag with a gorgeous purse (picture to follow)

Lesley At Moogsmum with her beautiful doll's chair which stands about 10" tall (25 cm).

Locket and her lovely friend, Jane, are offering a selection of Phoenix cards from the fabulous selection Jane keeps as a Phoenix Trader.

Katy from I'm A Ginger Monkey and this magnificent cot quilt (oh Katy! Are those Liberty prints ??)

Little Cotton Rabbits has donated our poster girl, Annabelle (and as I type I hear people all around the world clamouring for this!)

Missus Stashbasket herself has delved deep into said stashbasket and come up trumps.
Est at My Cuppa Charms emailed asking if she could contribute a handmade cushion cover (and being the proud owner of one of Est's embroideries let me say the winner is in for a real treat.)

I have added a rustic stylee kitchen tray with a matroyshka designed and painted by me as well as 7 cards of East of India Ric-Rac (5m of each colour - burgundy, pale blue, pale pink, french blue, cream, black and raspberry pink) .
WMK has offered 2 eco-groovey prizes - fantastic shopping bags from RuMe, here and here.

Kate at Kate'squilting has created these fabric postcards, Lucy-Kate Crafts has offered Marmalade the Cat to the list and introducing to you all, Stella the SockMonster from Fan My Flame.

Then things take a decidely simian turn (with a slight detour through the porcine...)

Eve from Eve's Evocations has kindly offered a two gorgeous mini-creatures made with her own fair hands. The monkey is ~3.5" and the piggley 1.5" tall.

I have been contacted by Stine (Froglegs'n'Vaseline) with the offer of one of her gorgeous handknit monkeys (again I own one and can vouch for just how sweet these monkeys are! Waves at Lovey.)

It was at this point things could have started to get a little messy.

You see Kitty Wrinkle is making a super-special sock monkey and then last night Monkee Maker agreed to release one of the N.M.A. from his soldierly bonds. OH NO! I thought. Testosterone at dawn. The kung-fu moves of a sock monkey ninja vs. the well-drilled manouveres of a New Monkey Army Recruit.

Imagine my relief when Missus Wrinkle emailed me to say her super-special sock monkey was no ninja rather she is a delicate sweet flower of a monkey so rather than war perhaps there will be love!!

The Grand Trash Raffle is building up a head of steam here folks. EDITED W MORE PICS

Things are in the works and starting to happen.

I have been in contact with some famous names in blogland and have been offered fabulous prizes.

Our own KittyWrinkle has put forward one of her handmade, internationally acclaimed sock monkeys. Picture to follow when the executive committee reach a decision however Kitty has assured me it will not be adorned in the same way as her snow monkey;-)

The very lovely Missus Little Cotton Rabbits has donated one of her stunning creations so for one lucky charitable donor our poster girl, Annabelle, will be hers to treasure.

This fabulous handpainted doll's chair comes from Missus Moog.

Also Lisa from u-handbag is adding one of her gorgeous handmade purses into the pot.

I'm A Ginger Monkey has just emailed me to ask if I would like this cot quilt.

'Jolly kind,' I thought 'but I don't have need of a cot quilt anymore. Princess C-W and d/Boy are far beyond such beds now. Oh!' On realising my idiocy I gratefully accepted her offer straight away.

To be in the running for one of these prizes is the easiest thing in the world.

All you have to do is:

1. Click on the link to The Australian Red Cross.
2. Donate some money (credit card only)
3. Come back here and tell me how much you gave.
4. I will allocate one 'ticket' for every dollar you gave.

The minimum donation on the site if $5 so straight away you get five 'tickets'! Simple, non?

Officially the draw goes live on Saturday 14 and I will draw names on Wednesday 18 but I will be taking note of people who have contacted me so far and all names I receive will be entered into the draw.

I am basing this on an honour system and am going to believe you when you tell me how much (if) you donated.

Thank you all for taking part and come back because there will be more pictures and prizes to share.
